Shanesha Taylor Was Right to Refuse to Submit to Court Attorney's Demands
read
by B. Cayenne Bird for Daily Kos
They’ve got law and order in Arizona. Just look at the case of Shanesha Taylor who is now being hung in the media of one of the worst states in America when it comes to the support of single moms. The articles and newscasts sound as if they are parroting press releases issued by the elected Maricopa County Attorney Bill Montgomery. Most are full of outright lies and distortions that need clarification which is my intent with writing this op-ed.

By now you must have heard the story of Shanesha Taylor, the homeless 38-year-old mother who was arrested on March 20 after leaving her children in her car while she went to an interview, was finally released from prison. Taylor, unable to afford daycare, left her six month old baby boy and a two-year old son in in her SUV for more than 45 minutes and has been charged with child abuse. She now faces a long legal battle, and upon her release, child protective services kept custody of her children.
