In a more equitable world, 19 year-old Christian Taylor of Arlington, Texas would be preparing for his fall semester at Angelo State University. After spending the night in jail for [allegedly] breaking and entering and destruction of property/vandalism at a car dealership on August 7, 2015, his parents might have bailed him out and perhaps scolded him for his seemingly erratic actions. In a few years, after graduating from college, Christian might have looked back on this incident as a stupid episode performed by an immature, reckless teen. But this world is far from equitable, and instead of this hypothetical situation, Christian’s family gathered with hundreds of loved ones a couple days ago for his funeral.

Police made a third arrest in the case of Arnesha Bowers, a Baltimore teen who was stalked, raped and murdered earlier this month. The Baltimore City Police Department arrested the first two suspects Adonay Dixon and Johns Childs and held a press conference on June 11.

After a four week trial, Cleveland police officer Michael Brelo was found not guilty for the 2012 shooting deaths of Malissa Williams, 30, and Timothy Russell, 43. Brelo is white and Williams and Russell were Black.

Domestic violence is, unfortunately, all too prevalent in our society. From NFL players to singers to our own family members, coworkers, and friends, we have all been touched by domestic violence in some way. However the recent stories in the last couple of weeks involving men killing their wives and ex-partners in domestic disputes are even more disturbing as some of them involve the men killing multiple people—including their own children—before killing themselves.

An 11-year-old girl charged in the beating of a 2-month-old staying overnight with her expressed no remorse about the infant's death, police said.

The 11-year-old, her mother and the baby, Zuri Whitehead, were on a couch downstairs when the mother fell asleep at about 3 a.m. ET Friday, Wickliffe police Chief Randy Ice said at a news conference Monday.

Kim Jones, a social worker in Philadelphia, became the 14th homicide victim in the city this week.

While waiting for a bus on the morning of January 12, she was shot once in the back of the head. Police do not believe Jones was killed in a robbery attempt.

Yaz’Min Shancez (pictured above), nicknamed ‘Miss T’ by her loved ones, was 31 years old when she was brutally killed in Fort Myers, Florida. Her body was then set alight and dumped behind a garbage bin where it was discovered on the 19th of June. Her family described her as a woman who was ‘full of life’ and ‘didn’t deserve to go out like that.’

A suspect has been charged in connection with the death of Mary "Unique" Spears, a Detroit woman shot to death after allegedly rejecting the man's sexual advances.

Mark Dorch, 38, was charged with first degree murder and assault with intent to murder, among other charges. His trial is scheduled to begin February 9.

Latandra Ellington had weathered some of Lowell Correctional Institution’s harshest and most primitive realities, and was just seven months shy of freedom — and being reunited with her four young children.

But on Sept. 21, Ellington wrote a chilling letter to her aunt telling her she feared she wouldn’t make it out alive. One of the officers at the prison — she identified him as “Sgt. Q” — had threatened to beat and kill her, she wrote.

Late last week, the worst fears of little Hiawayi D’iland Robinson’s family were recognized as law enforcement officials confirmed the body of the 3-foot tall and 45 pound minor to be found by a city worker behind an abandoned building on Rebel Road of Prichard, Al.

Early Thursday morning, witnesses discovered the nude bodies of two black women lying dead on the side of a road in Jacksonville, Fla.

"They were naked, bound. They had, like, zip ties around their hands and their feet,” witness, Alton Soles, recounted to FOX 13 News.

Today Theodore Wafer, the man who killed 19-year-old Renisha McBride in November 2013, received his sentence.
